Joe Covington The 1984 Lynn B. Hearn Award winner, he also served as Director of the Division of General Environmental Health.
Lynn B. Hearn Lynn B. Hearn was an avid leader in the Tennessee Environmental Health Association serving as President of the Tennessee Association of Sanitarians in 196970 and in 1970-71. He was killed in a boating accident and in 1973 the award for Environmentalist of the Year was changed to the Lynn B. Hearn Award in his honor.
Darrell Holden 1987 Lynn B. Hearn Award winner and former President of the Tennessee Public Health Association. He is also one of only two environmentalists to serve as President of the Tennessee Public Health Association. He has served on the legislative committee of TPHA for many years. He serves on the inaugural Hall of Fame Committee.
Vice President Albert Gore The former Vice President of the United States won the Nobel Peace Prize among his many wards throughout his career speaking out on environmental issues. He has written numerous books concerning the environment and also won an Academy Award for his film “An Inconvenient Truth”. The Carthage, Tennessee native has been a champion of worldwide efforts to curb global warming and to make others aware of its affects on mankind. A former U. S. Representative and a U.S. Senator he is one of the world's leading authorities on the environment. |

Tennessee Environmental Hall of Fame
In 2008 TEHA voted to establish an environmental hall of fame in order to honor those Tennesseans who have greatly contributed to the field of environmental health. This Environmental Hall of Fame would also be a depository of the Environmental Health History of the State. In July of 2009 TEHA held the a ceremony to induct the initial class of members into the Tennessee Environmental Hall Fame.
